MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC on Fox 10 lightweight Mike Rio as he prepares for his main event bout tomorrow night (Jan. 25, 2013) against Daron Cruickshank at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
The former contestant of The Ultimate Fighter season 15 is squaring off against his fellow castmate on the preliminary card, and he’s prepared to counter Cruickshank’s flashy style:
“I know Cruickshank personally. Me and him are great friends. Dude, Cruickshank is an exciting fighter. Everything he does is a highlight reel. High kicks, spinning back fists, jumping this, flying off of this. If he can literally jump off the cage, throw a spinning back kick and land on top of me, he probably would do that if they allowed him to. He’s a very high flash, highly entertaining fighter and I’m more of a ‘take you down and beat you up’ type of fighter. I think this fight is going to either go crazy nuts or a dirty street fight.”
