MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with RFA featherweight Keoni Koch as he prepares for his main event title bout tonight (Jan. 24, 2013) against Brian Ortega at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
The 5-0 veteran understands that Ortega represents the most difficult opponent thus far in his career, but he feels his new rededication to the sport will help him pay off:
“We all know UFC right now is the top of the heap and RFA is knocking on the door to get to the big show. I’ve watched a lot of champions they’ve produced and a lot of higher talent they’ve produced go right in there and be successful. I hadn’t fought on a bigger show yet and I would consider this obviously my stiffest competition. This is a great stepping stone to get into the UFC. That doesn’t mean I expect to get to UFC right away, but my brother competes there and that would be a good marketing angle. I think based on what I’ve seen historically, it’s a great opportunity.”
