UFC Fight Night 35’s Costa Philippou: ‘There is definitely added pressure on me’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 35 middleweight Costa Philippou as he prepares for his main event bout next Wednesday night (Jan. 15, 2013) against Luke Rockhold at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.

The former professional boxer is coming off a tough loss which ended his huge run through the UFC middleweight division, and he is definitely feeling the heat heading into his first five round headlining bout this week:

“There’s definitely added pressure. First of all, it’s a five round fight and it’s a chance to fight a guy who was a former champion. Yes, it was a different organization but he fought a lot of big names and he’s been fighting for a while. He’s a great fighter and it’s definitely added pressure to fight five rounds, something I never did and he did before. All the pressure will be on me headlining the show. All the attention is on me and Luke and I have to make it an exciting fight. I definitely don’t want to repeat the last showing I had.”
