MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 168 middleweight Chris Leben as he prepares for his preliminary card bout tonight (Dec. 28, 2013) against Uriah Hall at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The longtime season one veteran of The Ultimate Fighter has battled his share of demons throughout his career, but he’s staying the course since getting clean and sober last year despite not achieving the results he expects of himself:
“Obviously I’m not in the place I want to be right now. Since I cleaned up my life and got sober, I haven’t won a fight yet. It’s definitely frustrating to say the least. I thought I won the first two rounds of the last one, but that’s ‘he said, she said’ and all that doesn’t matter. The bottom line is I need to get a ‘W’ in this fight. The only thing I can do is do everything that I can. When I come to the gym, pay attention and focus. When it’s time to drill, drill as hard and intensely as I can. When the coaches are teaching, focus and listen. When I come home, eat the right things and put the right things in my body, rest, do everything that I can do.”
