MMA Odds and Ends for Monday: Five Crazy UFC 168 Prop Bets That Cashed Big

Chris Weidman UFC 168 was a pretty crazy card both from an entertainment perspective as well as a betting perspective, and for today’s MMA Odds and Ends, I’ll list five crazy prop bets that cashed out in a big way. Chris Weidman wins by T/KO (+434)/Weidman wins in round two (+850) In the main event of UFC 168, Chris Weidman defeated Anderson Silva via second-round TKO after Silva broke his leg throwing a kick that was checked by “The All American.” I expected Weidman to win the fight via knockout, but definitely not in that fashion. Still, the recommended prop play I gave out on Weidman to win via knockout cashed out at a beautiful +434 (closing odds). And if you were smart enough to bet on the fight ending in the second round, nice job because Weidman wins in round two scored at a massive +850. Again, I didn’t expect Weidman to win via injury TKO, but that prop bet on him to win by knockout was one of the most vaulable prop bets of the year considering it’s the way the first fight ended. Travis Browne wins Knockout of the Night (+600) In a heavyweight contest, Travis Browne cemented his status as a top contender with a brutal KO win over Josh Barnett that earned him “Knockout of the Night” honors. The prop bet on Browne to win KOTN was +600, so great job if you happened to hit that one. Michael Johnson wins by T/KO (+350)/Johnson wins in round two (+900) In a lightweight matchup, Michael Johnson came through as the underdog to upset veteran Gleison Tibau by way of second-round knockout. I picked Johnson to win but I thought it would be by decision, so I missed betting on the Johnson via T/KO prop at +350. If you nailed that one, nice job, and if you hit Johnson in round two at +900, even better. John Howard wins by decision (+292) In a preliminary card welterweight matchup, John Howard used his wrestling to wear down Siyar Bahadurzada and take a clear-cut decision for his second-straight win since returning to the Octagon. This was a big win for Howard, and it was a big win for anyone who tailed my recommended prop bet on Howard by decision, which cashed out at a nice +292. William Macario wins by decision (+360) And finally, in one of two Facebook prelims, William Macario absolutely beat down Bobby Voelker over the course of three rounds to win a clear-cut decision. The prop bet on Macario to win by decision cashed at +360, so nice job it you nailed that prop.
