MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Series of Fighting 7 featherweight Georgi Karakhanyan as he prepares for his headlining title fight next weekend (Dec. 7, 2013) against Lance Palmer at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The Millenium MMA fighter is on a huge eight-fight winning streak, and he’s hoping upcoming opponent Lance Palmer has improved significantly over what he showed in his last fight for the RFA title:
“I’m hoping as a fighter he evolves so I’m hoping when I’m fighting him that his stand-up got way better than his last fight. My stand-up is at a different level than his stand-up and I know his wrestling is at a different level than my wrestling. We’re not going to go out there and put a singlet on and wrestling shoes and wrestle. It’s an MMA fight. During a wrestling match he might whoop my ass but in an MMA fight it’s a different story. In MMA, I think my stand-up is at a different level, my jiu-jitsu is at a different level, my wrestling’s at a different level than his wrestling. I’m going out there with a lot of confidence but I’m still very humble.”
