In the first of back-to-back cards, Cage Warriors heads back to the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England for Cage Warriors 62. The organization’s flyweight title will be on the line, as defending champion Neil Seery takes on UFC veteran Ulysses Gomez in the main event. Former BAMMA lightweight champion Curt Warburton is also in action as he takes on Wesley Murch, and top featherweight prospect Chris Fishgold is back to show off his sterling submission skills. Today, MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting lines for Cage Warriors 62 at Several Bookmakers. Take a look below: ——————– Flyweight Title Ulysses Gomez -160 Neil Seery +120 Curt Warburton -380 Wesley Murch +260 Chris Fishgold -425 Olivier Pastor +305 Richie Knox -175 Karl Moore +135 Ian Entwistle -135 Liam James -105 ——————– Brad’s Analysis: I actually favor Neil Seery slightly in his title defence against Ulysses Gomez. Gomez did nothing to impress in his time with the UFC, and Seery — although fighting at a lower level — has done nothing but impress sine dropping to 125. If Phil Harris can outstrike Ulysses Gomez, Neil Seery should be able to as well. Also, while Gomez has a solid top position game, Seery is the more dangerous submission threat. Over a 25-minute fight, I have to favor the champion in that situation. Both Warburton and Fishgold should be able to do what they want and pick up victories, and I like both as parlay legs with other cards this weekend. The Knox/Moore bout is one I’m going to stay away from for betting purposes, but I agree with the line in this fight as Richie Knox’s submission game has been slightly more impressive than Karl Moore’s thus far in their brief careers. Finally, in a nearly pick em fight I do favor Ian Enwistle, so keep an eye on this line and if it moves in James’ favor, Entwistle could be worth a play.
