Invicta FC 7’s Carla Esparza: ‘I’ve been pushed more than Claudia Gadelha has’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Invicta Fighting Championship 7  flyweight Carla Esparza as she prepares for her first title defense this Friday night (Dec. 7, 2013) against Claudia Gadelha at Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Team Oyama fighter initially won the belt against Bec Hyatt at the beginning of the year before suffering a knee injury. She’s hoping her big fight experience will be an advantage heading into her first title defense:

“Over here in the US, it’s the top level of MMA. All the best women are coming out of here. You have a few here and there everywhere else but overall, but competition-wise, if I have 10 fights over here, the majority of them are going to be tougher than what you’re going to get in another country. I definitely feel like I have more tough experience and I’ve been pushed more than she has.”
