MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Legacy Fighting Championship 26 featherweight Leonard Garcia as he prepares for his headlining bout this Friday night (Dec. 6, 2013) against Kevin Aguilar at Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas.
The longtime former WEC and UFC veteran lost his job with Zuffa following a five fight losing streak, but has won two straight since signing with Legacy FC earlier this year. He’s hoping to make it three straight this weekend to potentially earn his job back and he explained his recent resurgence:
“I didn’t harp on any negativity and I just went for it, man. I can feel it in training, like I’m back. I’m nipping on guys’ heels like I should be, like Cowboy. During my five fight losing streak, he would beat the breaks off me, man. It was pathetic. I’d go to the gym and leave after training him thinking about quitting MMA just from how bad it was. Now, we’re super competitive again. We’re going at it head to head. It’s just the attitude I’m going into the gym with. I’m going at it with a better feeling.”
