World Series of Fighting 7’s Lance Palmer: ‘My pressure will be too much’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Series of Fighting 7 featherweight Lance Palmer as he prepares for his headlining title fight next weekend (Dec. 7, 2013) against Georgi Karakhanyan at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The Team Alpha Male standout prospect has his hands full in his promotional debut, stepping in on short notice to vie for the inaugural WSOF featherweight title, but he’s fully aware of the danger Karakhanyan presents.

“If he does come out aggressive, he knows he can get taken down. I don’t know if he wants to be on the ground with me. He’s active on the ground but I think my pressure will be too much for him. He’s a pretty decent counter striker so if he sets back a bit and lets me come in, he may think that will make it easier to land punches and kick but I’m not worried about any of his game. I’m aware of what he does but I’m very confident in my ability to land.”
