UFC 167 Date: November 15, 2013 Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena City: Las Vegas, N.V. The UFC 167 preliminary card will be live on Facebook starting 6:45 pm ET tonight (Nov. 15, 2013), and will move on to FOX Sports 1 at 8 pm ET. If interested in wagering on these fights, these lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for the preliminary card: Lightweight bout: Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (-110) vs Evan “3D” Dunham (+100) Fight Prediction: I think this will be a back and forth battle with Dunham getting the more damage done on the feet. I expect Dunham to use his boxing to take a decision on the judges’ scorecards. Gabe’s Pick: Evan Dunham by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Evan Dunham (+100) for a moderate play. Welterweight bout: Brian “Bad Boy” Ebersole (+190) vs Rick “The Horror” Story (-210) Fight Prediction: I am expecting Ebersole to grind this one out. He will work Story against the cage, and he will score takedowns on him, then work him on the mat. Rinse and repeat en route to a decision. Gabe’s Pick: Brian Ebersole by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Brian Ebersole (+190) for a big value play, as I think he should be a -140 favorite. Also big on Ebersole by Dec (+373). Bantamweight bout: Edwin Figueroa (+340) vs Erik Perez (-380) Fight Prediction: I expect this fight to take place on the feet, and am sure it will be an exciting one, likely a Fight of the Night candidate. Both of these guys have knockout power, so I would not be surprised to see either of them go down. Perez has the better chin of the two, but Fig has some serious power in his hands, and if he connects, it could mean goodnight for “Goyito.” If it makes it all the way to the judges’ scorecards, I expect it to be a close fight that could go either way; definitely much closer than the odds indicate. Gabe’s Pick: Edwin Figueroa by KO (punches, 1:06 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Edwin Figueroa (+340) for a moderate to big value play, as I think getting him at +200 or better is a steal. Also a small to moderate play on Figueroa by T/KO (+1100). Bantamweight bout: Sergio Pettis (-430) vs Will Campuzano (+380) Fight Prediction:Pettis is getting over-valued in this match-up. While I think he would win more often than not, I believe Campuzano would win much more often than these odds indicate. I can see him pulling off a sub, or even edging out a decision. I think more often than not Pettis outscores him en route to a decision or possibly stops him, most likely via strikes, but at these odds, I wanna take a shot at Campuzano. Gabe’s Pick: Sergio Pettis via TKO (strikes, 2:24 round 2) but hoping for Campuzano by Sub or Dec Gabe’s Recommended Play: Will Campuzano (+380) for a small to moderate value play. Small play on Campuzano by Sub (+1505).
