MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 108 light heavyweight Joey Beltran as he prepares for his main event bout on Friday night (Nov. 15, 2013) against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The durable light heavyweight understands this is the biggest fight of his career, but just because his opponent is coming off three wins doesn’t mean he’s going to underestimate him.
“You know what they say about boxers. The last thing to go is their power so you always have to take that into account. If you’ve seen me fight and I know you have, you know I can take a shot. I’m not going to just stand there and let him hit me repeatedly but I’m not afraid. I know he doesn’t hit harder than Pat Barry, doesn’t hit harder than Mitrione or Stipe Miocic and those are big heavyweights that I’ve gone to war with. I’m not going to stand there and say, “Alright Rampage, hit me,” but I’m not terrified that he’s going to send me through the cage.”
