TUF 18 Finale’s Gray Maynard: ‘I really don’t think Nate Diaz has great boxing’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale lightweight Gray Maynard as he prepares for his headlining bout this weekend (Nov. 30, 2013) against Nate Diaz at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The former Ultimate Fighter season five standout and two-time title challenger has plenty of experience against Nate Diaz, having fought him once on TUF and once in a prior UFC event, and he feels Diaz’s much ballyhooed boxing is overrated:

“Everybody talks about his boxing, but I really don’t think he has great boxing. If you let him kind of stand in a place and tag you up then yeah, he throws a lot of punches. But angles, boxing angles, power, speed, I don’t see where he’s a great boxer…He has great cardio, but the only knock is they don’t change. If you can deal with it, good. If not, then it’s good for them.”
