Bellator 101’s John Alessio: ‘This isn’t the season nine tournament, it’s the Alessio season’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator lightweight veteran John Alessio as he gets prepared for his upcoming (Sept. 27, 2013) Bellator 101 lightweight tournament bout against Will Brooks at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

Alessio has talent, but it didn’t always translate on the biggest stage. “The Natural” is hoping the changes he’s made both mentally and physically will help put him over the top later tonight:

“I feel rejuvenated. Mentally, this Elliot Roe guy has done a lot for me. I really feel unstoppable right now in my mind. I feel I just need to go out and get the victory and then it’s on to the next step. There’s three steps in this tournament. I’m confident I’m gonna run through this kid. I’m gonna show him what’s up, man. It feels good to be back. I had to get some shit together. Those losses in the UFC left a bad taste in my mouth.”
