MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator lightweight veteran Rich Clementi as he gets prepared for his upcoming (Sept. 27, 2013) Bellator 101 lightweight tournament bout against Ricardo Tirloni at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.
“No Love” has been taking his training very seriously since coming out of retirement and he’s hoping his work with bigger fighters pays off:
“I do respect [Ricardo Tirloni’s] skill-set. He trains out of a Luta Livre association in Brazil so I know he has the skills to pay the bills. I’m looking to come in super mean, super fast and just very aggressive. That’s what I’ve trained for and I don’t mind that he knows that. I want him to know that. I want him to think about what’s gonna be in store. I’m feeling really, really good. Everybody I’m training with are complete bulldogs right now. Alan [Belcher] is walking around at like 240 and he’s a moose. If you know his jiu-jitsu skill-set, he’s really good too and his stand-up is bar none. I feel really confident in my training camp and I’m training with really big guys. I’m just prepared all-around.”
Will Clementi’s experience make the difference?
