Since there wasn’t much news yesterday — other than UFC president Dana White announcing that Anthony Pettis is out for seven weeks with a grade two knee sprain and that when he returns, his first title defense will be against TJ Grant — I’ve decided once again for today’s Odds and Ends to give a list of five props for tonight’s UFC Fight Night 28 props available at Several Bookmakers that you should consider betting on. The first time I did this, for last week’s UFC Fight Night 27 card, all five of the props I recommended cashed. The second time I did this, for last Saturday’s UFC 164 card, two of the five props I recommended cashed, meaning if you did a round robin with all those props both nights you’d be up quite a bit right now. Well, let’s try to keep the good times rolling tonight. Glover Teixeira Wins Via Submission (+200) Most think that Glover Teixeira is going to knock out Ryan Bader but I personally feel as though he’ll win the fight via submission. Since the prop on Teixeira by sub pays out at a healthy +200, throw it in a round robin if you agree with me. Yushin Okami Wins Via Decision (+280) Yushin Okami has a tall task ahead of him in Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and the only way I see him winning the fight is by decision. If you like Okami in this fight like I do, consider the prop on Okami by decision at +280, as this is likely the only way he can win this fight. Joseph Benavidez Wins In Round 2 (+335) Joseph Benavidez is a huge favorite over Jussier Formiga and rightly so. When a guy is such a big fav, it’s often better to attack the props rather than bet the moneyline, and that’s what I would do in this case. Since Formiga slows down and Benavidez picks up the pace in the second, this is when I see the Team Alpha Male star getting the T/KO win, the same round he finished off Yasuhiro Urushitani and Darren Uyenoyama in. Ivan Jorge Wins Via Decision (+200) Most are picking Keith Wisniewski to be defeated by Ivan Jorge on the Facebook prelims and I agree, as I see the Brazilian outpointing the American veteran en route to a decision. Since Wisniewski is tough as nails, I honestly don’t see Jorge finishing him unless the doctor or corner stops the fight, so I really like this prop on Jorge by decision at +200. Yuri Villefort Wins Inside The Distance (+240) I really like Yuri Villefort in the opening fight of the night and I think he’s going to defeat Sean Spencer with a submission. The prop on Villefort inside the distance pays out at +240, so definitely consider throwing this in a round robin if Villefort is your side in this fight like me.
