LFA 90 takes place at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota tonight (Friday, Sept. 4, 2020) at 9 p.m. ET live on UFC Fight Pass. Bantamweights Ricky Steele and Zviad Lazishvili are slated to duke it out in the main event for the LFA bantamweight title.
Steele (6-0) is making his LFA debut, although he fought in one of LFA’s founding promotions, RFA, back in 2016. Undefeated, he’s a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter (winning his bout on season 27) and he most recently defeated Phil Caracappa via split decision on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in August of 2019. Lazishvili (12-0) hails from the country of Georgia and is 1-0 under the LFA banner. He most recently returned from a four-year hiatus to defeat Josh Huber via unanimous decision at LFA 79 in November of 2019.
The co-main event features a pair of welterweights as Devin Smyth takes on Maycon Mendonca.
Smyth (9-2) is making his debut with the LFA promotion. He most recently had a nine-fight winning streak snapped by Brok Weaver at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in August of 2019. Mendonca (9-4) has had an up-and-down LFA career, going 3-3 in the promotion. He lost his first three LFA fights, but now has won three in a row, most recently defeating Kassius Kayne via second round triangle choke at LFA 84 in July.
