Mexicali, B.C. – February 20, 2020 – Reigning, undefeated Combate Americas World Lightweight (155 pounds) Champion Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (11-0) and his opponent, 2019 “COPA COMBATE” tournament champion Humberto Bandenay (18-7, 1 NC) weighed in at 155 pounds and 154.6 pounds, respectively, today for their highly-anticipated, main event showdown live on television in the U.S. in Spanish on both Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT), and in English on AXS TV (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT), as well as in Mexico on Televisa Canal 5 (11 p.m. local time) from Mexicali tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 21.
The scheduled women’s strawweight (115 pounds) co-main event between Yasmine Jauregui (4-0) and Lourdes Salcido (2-0) was canceled after Salcido was not cleared medically to compete.
The previously announced women’s atomweight (105 pounds) contest between unbeaten Laura Huizar (2-0) and Ana “Guerrera” Palacios (3-1-1) will replace the strawweight bout on the main card. Huizar weighed in at 105.2 pounds, while Palacios tipped the scale at 105 pounds.
Edgar Chairez (5-2) clocked in at 130.8 pounds, while his opponent, David Macias Ruiz (4-1) weighed in at 129.2 pounds for their scheduled 130-pound catchweight featured contest.
