The Ultimate Fighter Live (TUF 15) Finale Friday, June 1, 2012 at 9 p.m. (ET) on FX The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada Max Holloway (-130) Profile: Holloway (4-1) is the youngest UFC fighter at 20 years old and will try to bounce back from a loss in his debut to Dustin Poirier at UFC 143 on February 4. The Hawaiian featherweight lost to Poirier via triangle armbar submission at 3:23 of the first round after winning his first four pro MMA bouts. His biggest win to date came against former Strikeforce and WEC fighter Harris Sarimento last March 12, as he earned a split decision victory at X-1 – Champions 3 in Honolulu. Pat Schilling (+100) Profile: Like Holloway, Schilling (5-1) is also looking to rebound from a loss in his UFC debut, which was the first setback of his MMA career as well. The 23-year-old from Minnesota was submitted in the first round by Daniel Pineda via rear-naked choke on January 20 in the first UFC on FX event. Schilling had submitted his previous four opponents in the first round, and all six of his career fights have been decided in 3:02 or less. MMA Odds Analysis: MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas has made Holloway a -130 favorite (bet $130 to win $100) while Schilling is a small +100 underdog (bet $100 to win $100) according to the MMA odds. This is essentially a pick’em fight between two young prospects who are each coming off losses in their UFC debuts. Both have enjoyed some early success but need to prove themselves against better competition, which is why this is the perfect matchup at the perfect time. Although neither has competed on The Ultimate Fighter, they have similar experience as most of those who are fighting on the TUF Finale. And like each of the promising fighters who have tried to make a name for themselves on TUF, Holloway and Schilling are looking to make a positive impression and take the next step in their MMA careers.
