UFC Fight Night 142 Closing Odds and Betting Results

UFC Fight Night 142 took place Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Adelaide, Australia. The card was headlined by a heavyweight clash between Tai Tuivasa and former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.

Favorites that Won

Junior dos Santos was hurt early in both the first and second rounds, but landed a counter punch in the second round which sent Tai Tuivasa to the canvas. Dos Santos continued with ground and pound on the mat before Herb Dean stopped the fight. Dos Santos closed -155 while Tuivasa closed +125.

Sodiq Yusuff battered Suman Mokhtarian with a flurry of punches on the feet forcing the referee to stop the fight in the opening round. Yusuff closed the biggest favorite on the card at -611 with the return on Mokhtarian +436.

Jim Crute continued to go after Paul Craig’s arm in the grappling exchanges throughout the fight finally getting him to submit in the final minute of the bout to earn the win in his UFC debut. Crute closed -261 while Craig closed +211.

Alexey Kunchenko won his second straight bout in the UFC with a dominant striking display and stout takedown defense to win every round of the fight for a decision win. Kunchenko closed -347 with the return on Yushin Okami +277.

Keita Nakamura pressured Salim Touahri forcing him into single punches allowing Nakamura to out strike him to a split decision win. Nakamura closed -175 while Touahri closed +145.

Kai Kara-France put on a beautiful striking display nearly finishing Elias Garcia on several occasions. The fight made it to the scorecards and Kara-France was awarded a unanimous decision for his victory in the UFC. Kara-France closed -379. Garcia closed +294.

Despite tiring out in the third round, Christos Giagos had little problem with Mizuto Hirota out landing him on the feet as well having top position for much of the fight to win a decision. Giagos closed -379 with the return on Hirota +294.

Damir Ismagulov fought clean, solid fight having no problems with Alex Gorgees. He landed the better strikes on the feet and completely dominated the grappling to win all 15 minutes of the bout and a decision victory. Ismagulov closed -542 while Gorgees closed +402.

Underdogs that Won

In a bout he desperately needed to stick around in the UFC, Shogun survived a near knockout in the opening round to come back and TKO Tyson Pedro in the third round for a come from behind victory. Shogun closed +400 with the return on Pedro -600.

Justin Willis landed his jab throughout the fight and was able to keep Mark Hunt at bay to win 29-28 across the board. Willis closed -110 while Hunt closed -120.

Wilson Reis utilized a wrestling heavy attack to neutralize Ben Nguyen and win a decision 30-27 across the board in a battle of top ten ranked flyweights. Reis closed +128 with the return on Nguyen -158.

Pickem Fighters that Won

In a closely contested fight, Tony Martin took advantage of a position on the mat in the third and submitted Jake Matthews to earn the win. Both fighters closed -115.
