Mixed Martial Arts Veteran Recap: November 2018

At the beginning of every month, I feature my recurring “Veteran Watch” article, which takes a look at some notable veterans competing on the regional/overseas circuit. In this article, I recap how these veteran fighters fared in their respective bouts for the month of November.

Joe Giannetti vs. Josh Harvey RULED A DRAW
TUF 27 Finalist Giannetti remains winless in his lasat two fights while Harvey remains undefeated.


WXC 74: Allegiance – Nov 9 (Southgate, Michigan)


Mike “Biggie” Rhodes (11-6) vs. Dominique Steele (17-11) 

Bout cancelled per tapology

 

ACB 90: Moscow – Nov. 10 (Moscow, Russia)


Georgi Karakhanyan def. Timur Nagibin via TKO, RD. 1
Bellator veteran Karakhanyan earns two-straight wins for the first time since Nov. 2016 while Nagibin has now lost two of his last three fights.


Yusup Raisov def. Andre Winner via unanimous decision
Raisov pushed his winning streak five-straight while Winner has now lost two of his last three fights.


Invicta FC 32 – Nov. 16 (Shawnee, Oklahoma) 


Mizuki Inoue def. Viviane Pereira via Unanimous Decision

Inoue has now won four of her last five fights while UFC veteran Periera suffers her third straight loss.


Brave CF 18 – Nov 16 (Manama, Bahrain)


Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady def. Lucas Martin via Injury
Former UFC featherweight Martins makes the first defense of his Brave CF title against Al-Selwady. Since being cut from the UFC in 2015, the 29-year-old has remained undefeated winning five-straight fights. Al-Selwady earns his sixth win in a row while Martins has his five-fight win streak snapped.


Maverick MMA 10 – Nov. 17 (Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania)


Manny Walo def. George Sullivan via unanimous decision
UFC veteran Sullivan suffers his fourth straight loss while Walo has now won six of his last seven fights.

WFCA 54 – Nov 16 (Bahrain)


Frodo Khasbulaev def. Rob Emerson via submission (choke) at 1:57, RD. 1 
Khasbualev has now won back-to-back fights while Emerson has now lost two of his last three fights.


Oktagon 10 – Nov 17 (Prague, Czech Republic)


Attila Vegh def. Maiquel Falcao via unanimous decision.
Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vegh makes it three-straight wins while Falcao has now lost three of his last four fights.


Jeremy Kimball def. Miloš Petrasek via TKO, RD. 1
Former UFC light heavyweight Kimball snaps his two-figth skid. Petrasek meanwhile has his four-fight win streak snapped.

XFN 14 – Nov 18 (Bratislava, Slovakia)


Karlos Vémola def. Moise Rimbon via unanimous decision

UFC veteran Vemola earns his seventh win in a row while Rimbon has his three-fight win streak snapped.

Liddell vs. Ortiz 3 – Nov 24 (Inglewood, California) 


Tito Ortiz def. Chuck Liddell via TKO (punches) at 4:24, RD. 1
Ortiz meanwhile has won has now won four of his last five fights while Liddell suffered his fourth straight loss.


Gleison Tibau def. Efrain Escudero via unanimous decision
Tibau earns his first win since Jan. 2015 and snapped a four-fight losing streak. Escudero has his two-fight win streak snapped.


Deron Winn def. Tom Lawlor via unnaimous decision
Winn goes the distance for the first time in his career and improves to 5-0 overall. Lawlor loses for the second-straight time.


James Barnes def. Albert Morales via submission (armbar) at 4:09, RD. 3
Barnes has now won five of his last six fights while Morales suffers his fourth straight loss.

 

BTC 4: Vendetta – Nov. 24 (Peterborough, Ontario)


Jason Saggo def. Adam Assenza via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:53, RD. 1
Saggo snaps a two fight skid in his first fight outside the UFC since July 2013. Assenza meanwhile has his three-fight win streak snapped.

 

Rumble in the Cage 60 – Nov 24 (Lethbridge, Alberta)

Jesse Bongfeldt (22-7-1) vs. Micah Brakefield (7-7)
