UFC Fight Night 138 Closing Odds and Betting Results

UFC Fight Night 138 took place Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. The card was headlined a top ten light heavyweight bout Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith.

Favorites that Won

Michael Johnson out landed Artem Lobov to win by decision in the night’s co-main event. Johnson closed -760 with the return on Lobov +460.

Misha Cirkunov got top position midway through the opening round and was able to latch in an arm triangle forcing Patrick Cummins to tap. Cirkunov closed -410 while Cummins closed +310.

In a tough, grueling fight Andre Soukhamthath landed the better strikes dropping Jonathan Martinez twice to win a clear decision. Soukhamthath closed -145 with the return on Martinez +115.

Ed Herman and Gian Villante fought in a back and forth bout with little separating the two fighters. Two of the three judges gave it to Villante in a fight that was a coin flip at the final bell. Villante closed -225 while Herman closed +185.

Nasrat Haqparast battered Thibault Gouti throughout the fight and was unfortunate not to get the finish. Haqparast earned a dominant decision to continue his winning ways in the UFC. Haqparast closed the biggest favorite on the card at -970 with the return on Gouti +570.

Calvin Kattar and Chris Fishgold stood in the pocket and threw leather. It was the UFC veteran who landed the big shot that sent Fishgold to the mat and Kattar followed up with ground and pound to finish the bout in the first round. Kattar closed -210 while Fishgold closed +170.

Arjan Bhullar dominated the third round with top control to pull away from Marcelo Golm to win a decision. Bhullar closed -165 with the return on Golm +135.

Faced against a fighter dropping down in weight, Stevie Ray was forced to counterstrike to edge out a decision win over Jessin Ayari. Ray closed -165 while Ayari closed +135.

Underdogs that Won

Anthony Smith pressed the action once Volkan Oezdemir began to slow down and secured a choke in the third round forcing Oezdemir to submit. Smith closed +125 with the return on Oezdemir -155.

Court McGee dropped Alex Garcia in the second to change the complexion of his fight with Alex Garcia. Afterwards, he forced Garcia into a grueling fight and McGee was able to out work Garcia to win a decision. McGee closed +195 while Garcia closed -245.

After a slow opening round, Sean Strickland’s jab started to connect in the second round. He dropped Nordine Taleb and didn’t let him recover to win by second round TKO. Strickland closed +100 while Taleb closed -130.

Talita Bernardo secured top position in all three rounds to get the victory over Sarah Moras. Bernardo closed +145. Moras closed -175.

In a battle of UFC debutants, South African Dan Madge stunned Te’von Edwards with a head kick and then followed that up with another head kick to send the American to the canvas to win by second round knockout. Madge closed +360 while Edwards closed -510.
