LFA 51 takes place at Selland Arena in Fresno, California on Friday (Sept. 28, 2018) at 10pm ET live on AXS TV. Flyweight champion Sabina Mazo defends her title against Jaimee Nievera in the main event.
Mazo (5-0) captured the vacant title in her last bout when she defeated Shannon Sinn by unanimous decision at LFA 37 back in April. The 21-year-old Kings MMA standout already holds wins over former Bellator flyweight title challenger Alejandra Lara and Contender Series veteran Jamie Thorton. Nievera (7-4) is coming off a TKO loss to Antonina Shevchenko on Contender Series back in June, which snapped her three-fight win streak. The 33-year-old has only gone the distance twice in her career.

The co-main event features a bantamweight matchup as UFC veteran Cody Gibson faces Brazil’s Gustavo Erak.
Gibson (15-7) had his three-fight win streak in his last bout as he suffered a third-round submission loss to Adrian Diaz at Tachi PF 31 in May 2017. “The Renagade” has gone 3-1 since leaving the UFC in 2015. Erak (19-3-1) heads into his LFA debut on an eight-fight win streak and has finished six of his opponents during that stretch. The 26-year-old will also be making his North American debut.
