This weekend, the UFC makes what is almost becoming a monthly trip back to Brazil with what should be an entertaining, but certainly not PPV-worthy event. UFC 163 marks the fifth defense of Jose Aldo’s featherweight title (and seventh defense if his WEC title reign is factored in). The Nova Uniao fighter is quietly approaching some of the records for title defenses of the sport’s all-time greats, and is undoubtedly the greatest featherweight in MMA history, having handily dispatched both fighters who held claim to that throne before him, ‘Pequeno’ Nogueira and Urijah Faber. Next up for Aldo is Chan Sung Jung, better known to most fans as ‘The Korean Zombie’. Jung fell into this title shot when Anthony Pettis dropped out of the bout and the UFC felt he was a better fit for the spot than fellow featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas. From a marketing perspective that may be true, but this fight is not something that screams “competitive.” Aldo opened a huge favorite on the books, and has remained that way up to this point. The only other fights on this card that had early lines released were the co-main event between Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis, and an undercard bout between Vinny Magalhaes and Anthony Perosh. Yesterday, MMA Oddsmaker Nick Kalikas added to those lines by filling out the remaining PPV fights, and today the full UFC 163 odds were released at Several Bookmakers. Take a look at the new lines below: ——————– UFC-163 PRELIMINARY CARD (FX, 8 p.m. ET) Vinny Magalhaes -305 Anthony Perosh +225 Amanda Nunes -260 Sheila Gaff +180 Sergio Moraes -230 Neil Magny +170 Ian McCall -410 Iliarde Santos +290 ——————– PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook, 6:30 p.m. ET) Rani Yahya -705 Josh Clopton +435 Ednaldo Oliveira -230 Francimar Barroso +170 Viscardi Andrade -260 Bristol Marunde +180 ——————–
