UFC on Fox 30 took place Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The card was headlined by a lightweight bout between former champion Eddie Alvarez and contender Dustin Poirier.

Favorites that Won Dustin Poirier went to war with Eddie Alvarez and finished the chapter with Alvarez by knocking him out in the second round after landing punches in bunches against the cage. Poirier closed -170 while Alvarez closed +140. Joanna Jedrzejczyk doubled up Tecia Torres’ strikes on the feet and did well to defend takedowns to win her first non-title fight in nearly four years. Jedrzejczyk closed -315. Torres closed +245.
Jordan Mein had a lot of success with takedowns in this bout securing top position in all three rounds to win a decision in his home country over Alex Morono. Mein closed -150 with the return on Moron +120.
Hakeem Dawodu put on an impressive 15 minute striking display to win a 30-27 decision over Austin Arnett. Dawodu closed -540. Arnett closed +365.
As the biggest betting favorite on the card, Islam Makhachev had no problem with Kajan Johnson. He secured his first takedown attempt, advanced to dominant position, and then setup an armbar to get the first round submission. Makhachev closed -640 while Johnson closed +440.
Ion Cutelaba battered Gadzimhurad Antigulov with knees and elbows on the feet to force the referee to step in and stop the fight in the first round. Cutelaba closed -135. Antigulov closed +105.
John Makdessi landed early and often in his bout with Ross Pearson. In a tremendous striking contest, Makdessi turned it on even more late in the fight to pull away and win a wide decision over Ross Pearson. Makdessi closed -225 while Pearson closed +185.
Katlyn Chookagian landed the more effective strikes in a 15 minute striking contest against Alexis Davis to win a decision on all three scorecards. Chookagian closed -160 with the return on Davis +130.
After dropping the first round, Nina Ansaroff adjusted by landing kicks from distance and stuffing Randa Markos’ takedown attempts to win a 29-28 decision across the board. Ansaroff closed -140 while Markos closed +110.
Underdogs that Won Jose Aldo was hurt by Jeremy Stephens, but recovered well to ultimately become the aggressor in the fight and land a body shot late in round one that sent Stephens to the canvas. Aldo followed up with punches on the mat to force the referee to step in and stop the bout giving Aldo his first finish in the UFC since 2013. Aldo closed +100. Stephens closed -120. In a grueling fight, Alexander Hernandez out worked Olivier Aubin-Mercier to win a decision. Hernandez closed -105 while Aubin-Mercier closed -125.
Dustin Ortiz landed a head kick that dropped Matheus Nicolau and followed up with strikes on the mat to earn a first round finish. Ortiz closed +155 while Nicolau closed -195.
After being dropped by a body shot, Devin Powell recovered and landed a body kick of his own which sent Alvaro Herrera to the canvas and forced the referee to stop the fight to give Powell a first round victory. Powell closed -110 while Herrera closed -120.
