Middleweight bout: Paulo Costa (-445) vs. Uriah Hall (+355)
Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this is a coin-flip fight in the UFC’s 185 pound division and do not agree with the current betting odds. I believe Hall is the superior technical striker and I believe he is capable of knocking Costa out in this matchup, as well as outpointing him on the judges’ scorecards for a decision victory. At +355, I believe the veteran Hall is the right side for a play. There is a good chance he hands the Brazilian the first official loss of his professional mixed martial arts career.
Gabe’s Call: Hall by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Lewis (+305)
Women’s Strawweight bout: Jamie Moyle (-310) vs. Emily Whitmire (+255)
Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this matchup is a lot closer than the betting odds suggest. Moyle is the superior wrestler here, and I think she uses her wrestling to grind out a decision win, whoever I think her asking price of -310 is too much. At the current odds, I see this fight as a “dog or pass” situation, and I am ultimately going to opt to side with the dog for a play, even though my official pick at this point is Moyle.
