Bare Knuckle Boxing 11 takes place Saturday, June 9 at O2 Indigo In London, England. MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas recently released the full opening odds for the card via Several Bookmakers, and below you can find the openers, as well as my thoughts on some of the bouts.
The main event features the world lightweight title on the line between Sean George and Liam Cullen. George opened as a -150 favorite while Cullen is a +110 dog. George is 45 but he keeps himself in tremendous shape and has a lot of experience in combat sports as he’s a former Muay Thai kickboxer, while Cullen is a former pro boxer himself. This should be a pretty fun fight for as long as it lasts.
The co-main event sees the middleweight title on the line between Jimmy Sweeney and Kris Trezise. Sweeney opened at -180 with the comeback on Treziee at +140. In his last bout, Sweeney knocked out UFC veteran Julian Lane to take back his belt after losing a majority decision to lane the fight before, and he should be motivated to keep his belt this time around against Trezise.
As well, there’s a light heavyweight title bout between UFC veteran Goran Reljic and Danny McIntosh. Somewhat surprisingly McIntosh is the favorite at -130 while Reljic is -110, but remember, this isn’t MMA, so even though Reljic is a bigger name, McIntosh likely has the advantage in a bare knuckle boxing bout as a former pro boxer. Reljic knocked out Kevin Thompson in BKB in his last fight and is unbeaten at 2-0, 1 NC in the promotion so this should be a fun fight.
And for MMA fans, there’s one more face you’ll recognize on the card and that’s Mike Richman, formerly of Bellator, who takes on Marcus Gaines. Richman opened as a solid favorite at -305 to +225 for Gaines. Richman is making his BKB debut after having lost three-straight fights in MMA. But you can’t forget the success he had earlier in his career in Bellator, and he has very heavy hands.
