Frankie Edgar relied on his striking as he landed more often than Cub Swanson did to take a decision in a battle of top five featherweights. Edgar closed -302. Swanson closed +242.
Justin Willis had no problems with Chase Sherman as he landed the bigger, more effective strikes over the course of 15 minutes to cruise to a decision victory. Willis closed -290 with the return on Sherman +235.
Dan Hooker earned a signature knockout on his resume as he landed a knee flush in the first round that sent Jim Miller to the canvas to give him the victory. Hooker closed -304 while Miller closed +244.
In a fairly close bout, Ryan LaFlare was far busier when the fight hit the mat to win rounds and ultimately a decision over Alex Garcia. LaFlare closed -156. Garcia closed +126.
Corey Anderson had his way with Patrick Cummins. The big shots he landed in the opening round allowed for opportunites for takedowns in the final two rounds to win a decision. Anderson closed -174 while Cummins closed +144.
Tony Martin’s move up in weight went as planned as he out struck Keita Nakamura to win a decision on the scorecards. Martin closed -200 with the return on Nakamura +170.
Underdogs that Won David Branch landed a clean right hand against the cage that sent Thiago Santos to the canvas. Branch followed up with punches on the ground to finish Santos off in the opening round. Branch closed +140 with the return on Santos -170.
Siyar Bahadurzada landed a beautiful leg kick and a vicious body shot in the second round which forced Luan Chagas to turtle up. The referee stopped the fight giving the fight to the Afghan. Bahadurzada closed +153. Chagas closed -183.
Pickem Fighters that Won Aljamain Sterling was the better striker and grappler in this bout as he gave Brett Johns his first career loss. Both Johns and Sterling closed -115.
In one of the craziest endings in the history of the UFC, Ricky Simon secured a choke at the end of round three. At the bell, Merab Dvalishvili was ruled to be non-responsive and thus the fight was ruled a TKO win for Simon. Both fighters closed -115.
