CES 49 Opening Betting Odds

CES 49 takes place at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island, on Friday (Apr. 6, 2018) at 7pm ET live on AXS TV. Welterweight champion Chris Curtis defends his title against Jason Norwood in the main event.

Curtis (17-5) heads into this title defense on a four-fight win streak, including a unanimous decision victory over previously undefeated prospect Peter Grajcar at Fight Night Medicine Hat 4 in September. The 30-year-old has won 10 of his last 12 fights with those losses coming against Bellator veteran Nah-shon Burrell and current UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad. Norwood (18-4) meanwhile has won six of his last seven fights, including a victory over UFC veteran Carlo Prater in his last fight. “G.I” hasn’t won four fights in a row since Dec. 2010.

The vacant lightweight title is up for grabs in the co-main event as Nate “The Snake” Andrews faces RFA veteran Chris Padilla. Andrews (12-1) hasn’t lost a fight since Aug. 2014 and has finished all of his opponents during his six fight win streak. The 33-year-old has never been finished in his 13-fight career. Padilla (9-3) looked on the verge of a UFC contract at the end of 2015 but has since lost three of his last five fights. “Taco” last competed for Bellator back in January where he was submitted in the first round by Gabriel Green.
