Bellator 195 takes place at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on Friday (Mar. 2, 2018) at 9pm ET live on Paramount Network Bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell makes the first defense of his title against former LFA champion Leandro Higo.
Caldwell (10-1) captured the belt in his last bout at Bellator 184, defeating former champion Eduardo Dantas by unanimous decision back in October. “The Wolf” has won six of his last seven fights. Higo (18-3) is coming off his first Bellator victory as he defeated Joe Taimanglo by unanimous decision on that same Bellator 184 card. The 29-year-old has won five of his last six fights with three of those wins coming by stoppage.
In the co-main event, former bantamweight champion Joe Warren looks for back-to-back wins for the first time since Oct. 2014 when he faces Joe Taimanglo. Warren (15-6) has alternated between wins and losses in his last six fights, including a unanimous decision victory over Steve Garcia Jr. in his last bout. The 41-year-old looks for his first stoppage victory since Sept. 2016. Taimaglo (23-6-1) is coming off back-to-back unanimous decision losses to Darrion Caldwell and Leandro Higo. The 33-year-old has gone 7-4 under the Bellator banner and will look to avoid three-straight losses for the first time in his career.
Also on the card is a pivotal matchup in the flyweight division as former title challenger Emily Ducote faces Kristina Williams. Ducote (8-3) came up short in her rematch against Ilima-Lei MacFarlane, losing by fifth-round submission at Bellator 186. The 24-year-old looks to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time in her career. Williams (1-0) is coming off an impressive second-round TKO victory over Heather Hardy at Bellator 185 in October. “War Horse” competes in just her second professional bout as she went 3-0 as an amateur.
