ONE Championship: Quest for Gold takes place at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, on Friday (Feb. 23, 2018) at 7am ET. In the main event, Aung La Nsang faces Alexandre Machado for the promotions vacant light heavyweight title.
La Nsang (21-10) heads into this title fight having won seven of his last eight fights including a first-round submission victory over Alain Ngalani at ONE Championship: Hero’s Dream back in November. The 32-year-old, who fought as low as welterweight in his career, looks to capture his second title for ONE Championship as he already holds the middleweight championship. Machado (8-2) hasn’t competed since August 2016 when he submitted Alain Ngalani at ONE Championship: Heroes of the World. The Brazilian has won four of his last five fights.
In the co-main event Amir Khan faces Timofey Nastyukhin in a lightweight bout. Khan (8-2) heads into this contest on a six-fight win streak, including a unanimous decision victory over Adrian Pang at ONE Championship: Immortal Pursuit in November. The 23-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since May 2015. Nastyukhin (11-3) is 2-2 in his last four fights but is coming off a unanimous decision over Koji Ando at ONE Championship: Kings and Conquerors in August. The 28-year-old has only gone the distance once in his 14-fight career.
