Glory 50: Chicago takes place at UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL on Friday (Feb. 16, 2018) at 8:30pm ET on UFC Fight Pass for the Super Fight Series and 11pm ET on ESPN 3 for the Main Event. Headlining the card is welterweight champion Murthel Groenhart defending his title against Harut Grigorian in a rematch fro their Glory 42 matchup last year.
Groenhart (91-23-3) heads into his title defense on a four-fight win streak, including a split decision victory over Cedric Doumbe at Glory 44: Chicago in August. The 31-year-old has gone 7-1 in his last eight fights and has only lost twice in his last 11-matchups. Meanwhile Grigoren (66-11) has gone 4-1 in his last five fights, with a second-round knockout loss to Groenhart being the lone blemish during that span. The 28-year-old has amassed a 14-2 record in his last 16-fights, with seven of those wins coming by TKO.
In the co-main event, Chicago native Richard “Maximus” Abraham looks for back-to-back wins when he faces Malik Watson-Smith who makes his promotional debut. Abraham (12-5) snapped a two-fight skid in his last bout, defeating Daniel Morales by unanimous decision at Glory 44: Chicago in August. The American has gone the distance in all seven of his fights under the Glory banner. Watson-Smith (59-23) spent years training in Thialand and finally returns to his home city.
