UFC on Fox 27 took place Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The card was headlined by a middleweight fight between Derek Brunson and Jacare Souza.

After a short stint on the feet, Gregor Gillespie took Jordan Rinaldi to the mat and beat him up from top position to earn yet another stoppage victory. Gillespie closed -550 while Rinaldi closed +425.
Drew Dober out slugged Frank Camacho in one of the best fights of 2018 thus far as he won a decision in which both guys landed heavy punches. Dober closed -140. Camacho closed +120.
Bobby Green really turned it up in the final two rounds beating up Erik Koch to win by decision. Green closed -175 while Koch closed +155.
Mirsad Bektic landed a huge punch to the chest of Godofredo Pepey sending him crumbling to the mat to earn a first round TKO victory. Bektic closed -550. Pepey closed +425.
Katlyn Chookagian was the more active fighter winning a close decision over Mara Romero Borella. Chookagian closed -190 while Borella closed +165.
Randa Markos was able to secure takedowns throughout the bout outworking Juliana Lima to a decision victory. Markos closed -155. Lima closed +135.
Niko Price struggled early on against George Sullivan, but eventually took his back and latched in a rear naked choke for a second round submission victory. Price closed -365 while Sullivan closed +305.
Cory Sandhagen was victorious in his UFC debut focusing on the body of his opponent Austin Arnett dropping him to the mat in the second round to get the TKO victory. Sandhagen closed -200 with the return on Arnett +170.
Underdogs that Won
Jacare Souza landed a head kick that stumbled Derek Brunson. He followed up with punches to win by first round knockout in the night’s main event. Souza closed +120 with Brunson closing a -140 favorite.
In a back and forth fight with both fighters taking damage, Andre Fili got the nod over Dennis Bermudez to win by split decision. Fili closed +130 while Bermudez closed -150.
Judges preferred Ji Yeon Kim’s head striking to Justine Kish’s leg kicks to award her a split decision victory for her first win in the UFC. Kim closed +140 with Kish closing -160.
In a very close back and forth striking contest, Vinc Pichel got the nod over Joaquim Silva 29-28 across the board. Pichel closed +110 while Silva closed -130.
