Invicta FC 27 Opening Betting Odds

Invicta FC 27 takes place at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri, on Friday (Jan. 12, 2017) at 8 p.m. (ET) live on UFC Fight Pass. UFC veteran Sarah Kaufman returns to the promotion for the first time since April 2014 when she battles Pannie Kianzad in the main event.

Kaufman (18-4-1) has had a tough time getting fights having competed just one time since 2016. The former Strikeforce champion is coming off a unanimous decision win over current UFC flyweight Jessica Rose-Clark at Battlefield Fighting Championships in March 2017, which snapped a two-fight losing streak. The Canadian went 1-2 NC in the UFC defeating Leslie Smith, going to a No Contest against Jessica Eye and losing back-to-back fights against Alexis Davis and Valentina Shevchenko.

Here’s my interview with Kaufman ahead of the matchup

In the co-main event Vanessa Porto looks for her second-straight win when she faces fellow Brazilian fighter Mariana Morais. Porto rebounded from back-to-back losses against Jennifer Maia and Agnieszka Niedźwiedź to earn a third-round TKO victory over Milana Dudieva at Invicta FC 26 in December. The 33-year-old, who holds a win over current UFC flyweight Roxanne Modafferi, has gone the distance in seven of her last eight fights. Her opponent, 22-year-old Morais is coming off a 58-second submission setback to Ariane Lipski at KSW 40: Dublin. The Parana Vale Tudo product competes in the Invicta FC cage for the first time since September 2015.
