LFA 30 takes place at Costa Mesa Hall at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California, on Friday (Jan. 12, 2017) at 9 p.m. (ET) live on AXS TV. Top welterweight prospects Curtis Millender and Nick Barnes clash in the main event.
Millender (13-3) heads into this headlining fight on a four-fight win streak, with his most impressive win coming in his last bout where he knocked out Matthew Frincu in 38-seconds at LFA 24. The 30-year-old competes in his fourth fight in the span of a year. Barnes (12-2) rebounded from his TKO loss to Brian Camozzi back in Sept. 2016 by earning a split decision over Chad Curry at LFA 20. “The Phoenix” has won three of his last four fights.
In the co-main event Fernando Padilla puts his four-fight win streak on the line against Talison Soares. Padilla (10-1) has only gone the distance twice in his career, one of which was the only loss on his resume to current UFC featherweight Dan Ige at CFFC 64 last year. The 21-year-old boasts seven of his ten career wins by submission. Soares (9-2) makes his promotional debut and has won seven of his last eight fights. The 29-year-old hasn’t competed since a Jan. 2015 second-round submission victory over Antonio Araujo at Limo Fight 14.
