Bellator 190 takes place at Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy Saturday (Dec 9, 2017) at 11 a.m. (ET) and later on Tape Delay via Spike TV at 8pm ET. Middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho defends his title in the main event against Alessio Sakara.
Carvalho (14-1) hasn’t lost a fight since his professional debut in December 2011 and has racked up 14-straight wins. The 31-year-old has gone 5-0 in Bellator and successfully defended his middleweight title twice earning back-to-back wins over Melvin Manhoef. Sakara (18-11) is a former UFC middleweight who has only fought four times since he was released from the Las Vegas based promotion in 2013. The Italian fighter will compete for the first time in over a year as he last competed against Joey Beltran at Bellator 168 where he scored a first-round knockout victory.
The co-main event features pits lightweight standout Brandon Girtz against SBG Ireland product Luka Jelcic. Girtz (14-7) is coming off a TKO loss to Derek Campos in their trilogy matchup at Bellator 181. The Colorado native looks to snap a three-fight losing streak. Jelcic (10-2) will be making his promotional debut and heads into this matchup on a four-fight win streak. The 28-year-old most recently defeated Roberto Pastuch by first-round TKO at Fight Fight Championship 29 back in April.
