UFC Fight Night 123: Swanson vs. Ortega

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is will be traveling to Fresno, CA for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 123: Swanson vs. Ortega. The stacked 13 fight card is set to kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30 p.m. ET, and prelims will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. The main card will get underway on the same channel at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for these fight cards, all betting lines are made available at Several Bookmakers.

Lightweight bout: Scott Holtzman (-120) vs. Darrell Horcher (+100)
Gabe’s Thoughts: I agree with the current betting odds in that this is a close bout in the UFC’s 155 pound division. This is a fight that could go either way, and I do not trust either of these fighters with my wallet at these odds. If I had to pick a side to gamble on, I would go with Horcher, as I have not been overly impressed with Holtzman, who has yet to register a finish inside the Octagon. I would probably take a shot on Horcher at +130 or better, however at the current odds, this scrap is going to have to be a pass for me this weekend.

Women’s Bantamweight bout: Liz Carmouche (-185) vs. Alexis Davis (+160)
Gabe’s Thoughts: Davis returned to action following an extended layoff this past July and defeated Cindy Dandois via controversial unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards. She will be looking to make it two in a row for herself inside the Octagon against Carmouche, who is coming off a layoff following a split decision win over Katlyn Chookagian over a year ago. The pair were the first UFC fighters to officially compete in New York City. I agree with the betting odds in that Carmouche should be the favorite, however I think she should be -160, so I see absolutely no betting value in her at her current offering price of -185. I think Davis is on a decline, and I am not sure where Carmouche is at following this layoff. This fight has “avoid” written all over it, I would suggest staying away.
