Bellator 189 plus heavyweight tournament Opening Odds

Bellator MMA heads to Thackerville, Oklahoma this Friday (Dec. 1, 2017) at 9 p.m. ET and will air on Spike TV. The card features a women’s featherweight rematch for the Bellator 145-pound women’s title as champion Julia Budd takes on Australian Arlene Blencowe again.

Budd was crowned the Bellator women’s featherweight champion in March when she TKO’d veteran Marloes Coenen in the fourth round. Prior to that, she won a majority decision against Blencowe. Meanwhile, Blencowe has won three straight fights, including a decision victory over Sinead Kavenaugh in August to earn a crack at the title.

In the co-main event, two top middleweight prospects square off as former two-time All-American wrestler Chris Honeycutt battles undefeated world champion Brazilian jiu-jitsu artist Rafael Lovato Jr. The men have just one career MMA loss between them and a victory could earn a shot at the middleweight champion Raphael Carvalho down the line.

Also on tap, fan favorite David Rickels battles Adam Piccolotti in a 160 pound catchweight fight and bruising middleweight Hisaki Kato takes on Chidi Njokuani.

But that’s not all. The odds for Bellator’s upcoming heavyweight tournament will also be released.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir takes on the legendary Fedor Emelianenko in one quarterfinale match-up this April. Ex-UFC standouts Matt Mitrione and Roy Nelson will rematch in February. Top light heavyweights Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Chael Sonnen square off in another contest in January while Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader takes on former Strikeforce champ Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in May.

MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting odds for the main card of Bellator 189 as well as the quarterfinals of the heavyweight tournament today at Several Bookmakers. Check out those lines below.
