LFA 28 takes place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas on Friday (Dec. 8, 2017) at 9 p.m. (ET) live on AXS TV. The main event originally featured Evan Cutts facing Jaleel Willis however an injury to Cutts has pulled that matchup from the card. Instead the lightweight matchup pitting UFC veteran Damon Jackson against Anselmo Luis Luna Jr is the new headliner.
Jackson (12-2-1) has gone 3-1 since he was released from the UFC in 2016, including a first-round submission win over Eliazar Rodriguez at LFA 16 this past July. The 29-year-old moves up to the lightweight division for the first time since 2014. Luna Jr. (14-6) has won three of his last four fights including a unanimous decision victory over Ray Wood at First Fight Night 2 in September. The 32-year-old will be making his LFA debut.
The co-main event pits Kevin Holland against Chris Bachmeier in a middleweight matchup. Holland (10-3) is coming off a knockout victory in a muay-thai matchup against UFC veteran Bubba McDaniel, but last saw action in the cage at LFA 21 where he knocked out Grady Hurley at LFA 21. The 25-year-old has won six of his last seven fights. Bachmeier (10-1) hasn’t lost since 2007 and is riding a nine-fight win streak into his LFA debut. “Moose” competes for the first time since May 2016.
