UFC 219 Cris Cyborg vs Holly Holm Opening Betting Odds

The upcoming (December 30, 2017) UFC 219 event in Las Vegas just had its main event announced earlier today. Women’s featherweight champion Chris Cyborg will defend her title against former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm.

Cyborg has not lost in over 12 years and has finished her last 18 fights via TKO. Holm gained fame for ending Ronda Rousey’s title reign at bantamweight. She has competed for the featherweight title before, losing a razor thin split decision against Germaine de Randamie at UFC 208 this past February. Holm most recently bounced back with a third round knockout victory over former title challenger Bethe Correia.

MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas had this to say about the bout:

“UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg will face her most accomplished opponent ever at UFC 219 when she squares off against former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm. This will be a striker vs striker match-up. Holm is an accomplished technical boxer, while Cyborg is more known for her brutal Tyson-esque power and finishing ability. Cyborg will have major edges in strength and aggression, but Holm will try to counter with finesse,a slight reach advantage and her dangerous kicking game. Both women are popular, so the sportsbooks should have no issue generating two-way betting action for this fight. Cyborg hasn’t really been threatened since she burst onto the scene in 2008, so she will open as a -305 betting favorite while Holm will open a +225 underdog.”

Kalikas’ opening betting line for Several Bookmakers opened on ESPN  earlier Today:

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino will open a more than 3-to-1 betting favorite against Holly Holm
