Five Props that Cashed Big at UFC 217

Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC 217 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers.

1) Rose Namajunas by T/KO (+2500)

Namajunas defeated and dethroned Joanna Jedrzeczyk via first round TKO to become the new UFC women’s strawweight champion. JJ was tapping to the strikes, but the result was ultimately ruled a T/KO, allowing those who wagered on the prop to break out with a whopping +2500 winning ticket. Congrats to you if you were on that one. Rose dropped her once early in the round, and again a couple of minutes in, at which point she poured it on more with the ground and pound to earn the stoppage. A very impressive performance by Namajunas, and we will likely see a rematch in the near future.

2) James Vick by T/KO (+970)

Vick defeated Joe Duffy via second round TKO to make it three straight wins for himself inside the Octagon, bringing his UFC record to 8-1. The stoppage came with one second left in the second round and was very controversial. Regardless, Vick got the victory and those who wagered on the prop cashed out a massive +970 ticket. Congrats if you were riding on that one.

3) TJ Dillashaw by T/KO (+895)

Dillashaw scored a second round TKO over Cody Garbrandt, handing him the first official loss off his mixed martial arts career and taking back his UFC bantamweight title, which he had lost to Dominic Cruz, who Gabrandt defeated by unanimous decision early this year. It was an impressive finish by Dillashaw, and another highlight to his reel. Big congrats to those who backed him to win by T/KO, as the prop paid out beautifully at at +895.

4) Ricardo Ramos by T/KO (+716)

Ramos is now 2-0 inside the Octagon after knocking out Aiemann Zahabi in the third round of their bout. It was a spinning back elbow that sealed the deal, putting Zahabi out cold and forcing the referee to jump in and halt the action. The Brazilian continues to impress inside the Octagon as he climbs up the ranks at 135-pounds. Congratulations to those who wagered on him to win this fight by T/KO, as the prop paid out at an incredible +716.

5) St. Pierre by Submission (+480)

GSP returned from a four year layoff to defeat Michael Bisping via third round rear naked choke submission to become the new UFC middleweight champion. It was one of the best performances of his career, and despite some cardio issues, he arguably looked the best he’s ever looked. Congratulations are due to those who took him to win this fight by submission, as that prop paid out at a sweet +480.

A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $13,132,826.
