The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is headed to Gdasnk, Poland for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 118: Cerrone vs. Till. Here is my parlay:

Middleweight bout: Ramazan Emeev (-135) vs. Sam Alvey (+115)

Gabe’s Thoughts: Alvey is taking this fight on short notice, stepping in for an injured Trevor Smith, and he is coming off a recent split decision win over Rashad Evans. Emeev will be making his promotional debut in this contest and I believe he is the superior grappler of the two. I am not confident he will manage to take the fight to the mat, but I think there is a good chance. On the feet, I think he will give Alvey trouble, and he will also be effective inside the clinch. I think Emeev should be a -230 betting favorite here in this Octagon debut, so I see value in him at his current offering price of -135. The advantages Alvey does have heading into this contest are size, punching power and conditioning. He will likely be the fresher fighter of the two heading into the third and final round of this bout, so I could see him winning the third after dropping the first two rounds.

Gabe’s Call: Emeev by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Featherweight bout: Josh Emmett (-320) vs. Felipe Arantes (+260)

Gabe’s Thoughts: Emmett is coming off a split decision loss to Demond Green at UFC 210 six months ago, which marked the first official loss of his professional mixed martial arts career. Following the loss, he has opted to move down to the UFC’s featherweight division, where he will be taking on Arantes, who is moving back up to 145-pounds after having quite a decent run at bantamweight. He was unable to make the weight cut for his last bout against Luke Sanders, so the bout was scrapped on fight week. The Brazilian may be at a technical striking advantage in this contest, but I think Emmett is the heavier hitter of the two and I expect him to find more success on the feet. I do think his wrestling will play a factor in this contest, too, as I see him taking Arantes down and outwrestling him here and there. I think this is a good matchup for Emmett in his 145-pound debut, as I see him having advantages everywhere, especially in size, which he has not previously been used to competing at 155-pounds. He is juicy at -320 and I initially thought I was going to take a pass on this one, but after doing my homework on the fight, I do like Emmett in this spot and I do think he is worth playing at the current price, despite the fact that I was hoping to get him at a lot better number.

Gabe’s Call: Emmett by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Emeev (-135) and Emmett (-320) at +128
