Cage Warriors 88 takes place at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England this Saturday (October 28, 2017) at 1pm EST. The lightweight championship is on the line in the main event as Chris Fishgold battles Alexander Jacobsen.
Fishgold (16-1-1) heads into this matchup on a six-fight win streak, with five of those wins coming by stoppage. The Liverpool native hasn’t competed since a unanimous decision victory over Nic Herron-Webb at CW Unplugged in November 2016. Jacobsen (8-1) hasn’t lost a fight since his professional debut in March 2014 and carries an eight-fight win streak. The 28-year-old has won back-to-back fights in Cage Warriors over Tim Wilde and Tom Green.
The vacant middleweight title is up for grabs in the co-main event as Lee Chadwick faces Victor Cheng. Chadwick (23-13-1) is coming off a first-round submission victory over Andrei Manzolo at Cage Warriors 85 which was his second-straight win under the Cage Warriors banner. “The Butcher” has won four of his last five fights. Cheng (11-2) is currently riding a four-fight win streak and hasn’t lost a fight since June 2011. The Swedish fighter will be competing for the first time since August 2016.
Also on the card “Meatball” Molly McCann looks for her fifth-win in a row when she squares off with Priscila de Souza who will be making her Cage Warriors debut. McCann (5-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Lacey Schuckman at Cage Warriors 82. The lone blemish on her resume is a November 2015 setback to Vanessa Melo at XFC International 12. De Souza (12-8) is coming off a submission loss to TUF 26’s Roxanne Modafferi back in April and she’ll be looking for her first win since January 2016. The 28-year-old has gone 2-2- in her last four fights.
