UFC 217 takes place in a little over two weeks (Saturday, November 4, 2017) in New York, New York, so it’s time to at least open up betting lines for the rest of the main card.
There are a whopping three title fights on the main card as Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her strawweight title against Rose Namajunas, Cody Garbrandts defends hsi bantamweight belt against former champ and teammate T.J. Dillashaw and Michael Bisping defends his middleweight strap against returning former welterweight titleholder Georges St. Pierre. Odds for these three bouts were already opened much earlier.
Also on tap is a welterweight attraction as former two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson takes on Jorge Masvidal. Both Werdum and Lewis are coming off disappointing losses. Werdum was defeated by Alistair Overeem via majority decision this past July while Lewis was TKO’d by Mark Hunt in the main event of UFC Fight Night: New Zealand this past June. Both men are still among the elite at welterweight and both are exciting strikers. A victory could put either right back into title contention.
Filling out the rest of the main card, former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks takes on surging Brazilian slugger Paulo Borrachinha in a middleweight fight.
MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting odds for these future fights last night at Several Bookmakers.
