In one line, I will be providing my own personal description for every fight ahead of us at tonight’s UFC 187. I will also be following the Twitter rule of thumb of keeping them in 140 characters or less. Tonight’s 12-fight card includes a five-fight main card that will be live on Pay-Per-View at 10pm ET, with preliminary action preciding it on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and UFC Fight Pass at 6:30pm ET prior to that. If interested in wagering on this UFC fight card, all lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. And without further ado, here are my one-liners for UFC 187… MAIN CARD (PAY-PER-VIEW) Daniel Cormier vs Anthony “Rumble” Johnson For the first time in four years, a new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion will be crowned. Chris Weidman vs Vitor Belfort A year and a half in the making, Weidman and Belfort finally square off and look to settle the score, with a Championship title on the line. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone vs John “The Bull” Makdessi Khabib’s injury brought an opportunity to Makdessi’s door, and he hopes to take advantage of it in this– the biggest fight of his career. Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski vs Travis “Hapa” Browne Friends and former training partners with title-shot dreams battle it out in this heavyweight Pay-Per-View match-up. John Moraga vs Joseph Benavidez A pair of previous UFC 125-pound title challengers look for another win on their road towards earning another crack at the division’s gold. PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX SPORTS 1) John “The Magician” Dodson vs Zach “Fun Size” Makovsky Dodson is hungry for a rematch with the Champion and the only person standing in his way is Makovsky, who has title-shot hopes of his own. “Stun Gun” Dong Hyun Kim vs “The People’s Warrior” Josh Burkman A couple of veteran welterweights go to war in this featured preliminary card match-up, and hardcore fight fans are in for a treat. Rafael “Sapo” Natal vs Uriah Hall There is personal beef between these middleweights and they look to settle it this evening, with both men promising to deliver knockouts. “Thug” Rose Namajunas vs Nina “The Strina” Ansaroff Ansaroff missed weight but the fight goes on, which can be costly for her if this bout earns the evening’s ‘FOTN’ bonus, and I think it can. PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC FIGHT PASS) Colby Covington vs Mike Pyle Up and coming prospect Covington looks to get past veteran Pyle, who finds himself playing the role of “gatekeeper” in this 170-pound bout. Islam Makhachev vs Leo Kuntz Makhachev and Kuntz are two prospects making their promotional debuts in the UFC’s stacked 155-pound division and they aim to make a splash. Josh Sampo vs Justin Scoggins These flyweights square off in the very first fight of the night, and they are expected to get the action rolling on a high-note.
