LFA 24 takes place at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona Friday (October 13, 2017) at 9 p.m. (ET) live on AXS TV. A pair of welterweight standouts headline the card as Matthew Frincu takes on Curtis Millender.
Frincu (11-2) heads into this main event matchup on a four-fight win streak, including a first-round TKO victory over Maycon Mendoca at LFA 11 in May. The 24-year-old has won nine of his last 10 fights. Millender (12-3) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Kevin Holland in his LFA debut back in June. The 29-year-old has gone the distance in three of his last four fights.
In the co-main event, bantamweight Joey Molina takes on Brazil’s Vinicius Zani. Molina (9-2) has won nine of his last 10 fights, with his lone loss coming against former Bellator title challenger Leandro Higo. The Arizona native competes for the first time since September 2016. Zani (10-4) is coming off a first-round TKO victory over William Joplin at LFA: Sioux Falls Fight Night 1 in April and will be competing for just the third time since June 2016. The 29-year-old has won seven of his last eight fights.
Also on the card is the return of jiu-jitsu sensation Mackenzie Dern who faces Mandy Polk. Dern (3-0) moves up to the flyweight division for the first time in her career as she struggled with weight cuts in her last two fights at strawweight. The 24-year-old has gone the distance twice in her career, with her only finish coming against TUF 25’s Montana Stewart at Legacy FC 61 last October. Polk (3-3) is coming off a TKO loss to Katy Collins at RFA 46 in December, which snapped her three-fight win streak. The 32-year-old looks to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time since 2014.
