Matchroom Boxing odds for Echo Arena Sept. 30

Eddie Hearn and his Matchroom Boxing are at the Echo Arena this Saturday night with a nine-fight boxing card that already sees seven of the fights listed at the sportsbooks. Though not one of Hearn’s massive international cards, solid regional fair tops the bill. The feature fights are set to air on SKY in the U.K.

The main event sees British and Commonwealth titles at 168 pounds being defended as Rocky Fielding (24-1) faces David Brophy (19-1). Fielding captured the British belt in his last outing while Brophy added the Commonwealth belt in his last outing so it is a title unification bout. Fielding’s lone loss was against Callum Smith while Brophy’s blemish came against George Groves so both men have tasted fighting at the elite level and come away with a defeat. A win on Saturday will leave a fighter holding Brit and Commonwealth belts and that could be enough to earn a world title shot in 2018.

Sean Dodd (14-2-1) is defending his Commonwealth title for the first time as he faces Thomas Stalker (12-2-3). Dodd has put together a solid four-fight winning streak since going 0-1-1 against rival Scott Cardle back in 2015-2016. Stalker is trying to put a feud with Craig Evans behind him that saw him go 0-1-2 against his own arch-rival. This is the most competitive fight of the night in terms of the odds at the sportsbooks and they currently have Dodd as slight -150 favorite.

Perhaps the biggest name on the card is heavyweight Dereck Chisora (26-7), who is fighting for the first time in 2017 in a six round bout against Marios Kollias (3-1). It is a mismatch designed to get Chisora busy again and the odds posted give Kollias practically no chance.
