ACB 71 Opening Odds

ACB 71 emanates from Dinamo Sports Palace in Moscow, Russia Saturday (September 30th, 2017) at 11 a.m. (ET) live on FITE TV. In the main event Petr Yan battles Matheus Mattos in a bantamweight tournament bout.

Yan (7-1) got some revenge is last bout, avenging the only loss in his career as he defeated Magomed Magomedov by unanimous decision at ACB 57. “No Mercy” looks for his first stoppage victory since October 2015. Mattos (11-0-1) was on Season 4 of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil where he lost a decision to Reginaldo Vieira and was eliminated from the competition. The 25-year-old had a successful ACB debut in April when he defeated Magomed Ginazov by unanimous decision and kept his undefeated record in tact.

In the co-main event, a lightweight tournament matchup pits Andrey Koshkin against Eduard Vartanyan. Koshkin (16-5) hasn’t lost a fight since October 2014 and heads into this matchup on a eight-fight win streak. The 27-year-old competes for the first time since September 2016. Vartanyan (17-3) is riding a three-fight win streak, including a second-round submission victory over Bellator veteran Alexander Sarnavskiy at ACB 57 in April. “Lionheart” has won four of his last five fights.

UFC veteran Christos Giagos faces Shamil Nikaev in a short-notice lightweight matchup. Giagos (14-5) has won three in a row including a unanimous decision win over Alexandre Pimentel in his ACB debut back in January. The Blackhouse product looks to make it four-straight wins for the first time since 2014. Nikaev (7-0-NC) is coming off a unanimous decision over Aurel Pîrtea at ACB 50 in May. The 22-year-old has gone the distance in all but one of his career fights.
