Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC Fight Night 117 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers.
1) Daichi Abe by Decision (+940)
Abe made his promotional debut against the stiffest test of his young professional mixed martial arts career in Hyun Gyu Lim and defeated him via unanimous decision following three rounds of closely contested action. Abe remains undefeated as a pro and fight fans look forward to see him back inside the Octagon, as he looks to be one of the brighter prospects out of Japan. Congratulations are definitely due to those who gambled on Abe winning this fight on the judges’ scorecards, as the prop paid out handsomely at +940, being the biggest prop to cash in on the night.
2) Jessica Andrade by Decision (+465)
Andrade surprised many by largely dominating Claudia Gadelha for the majority of three rounds of action to pick up a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, ultimately earning the biggest win of her professional mixed martial arts career. It was a very impressive outing by Andrade, who now finds herself back in the win column following a failed bid for the gold earlier this year. Congrats to those who played Andrade by Decision, as the prop paid out at a fantastic +465.
3) Ovince St Preux by Submission (+450)
OSP defeated short notice opponent Yushin Okami via first round Von Flue choke submission, making it his third Von Flue choke victory, which is even more impressive because there are five total Von Flue chokes recorded in UFC history; the other two by Jordan Rinaldi and Jason Von Flu himself. The victory puts OSP on a two fight winning streak inside the Octagon and he hopes to make it three straight by year’s end. Congrats to those who wagered on the Tennessee native to take home this win by submission, which meant handing Okami his first career submission defeat, as the prop paid out at a beautiful +450.
4) Teruto Ishihara by Decision (+330)
Ishihiara took a unanimous decision win over Rolando Dy to bounce back into the win column following a two fight losing skid. Congrats to those who wagered on the Japanese featherweight to take this win on the judges’ scorecards, as the prop paid out at a cool +330.
5) Jussier Formiga by Submission (+250)
Formiga earned an impressive first round rear naked choke win over Japan’s own Ulka Sasaki. It was a picture perfect way for the Brazilian to return to the win column following a unanimous decision loss to Ray Borg. Congratulations to those who took the Brazilian to win by submission, as the prop paid out at a solid +250.
A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $486,285
