MMA Odds and Ends for Tuesday: Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas rematch in the works for December

Combate reports that rematch between Jose Aldo and Ricardo Lamas is being targeted for December, possibly UFC 218 in Detroit.

Aldo (26-3) is coming off a third-round TKO loss to Max Holloway at UFC 212 where he dropped his featherweight title. The 31-year-old defeated Lamas by unanimous decision at UFC 169 in February 2014. Lamas (18-5) has won three of his last four fights including a first-round TKO win over Jason Knight at UFC 214. “The Bully” will look to win three-straight fights for the first time since 2013.

‘Jacare’ Souza’s manager says next opponent could be Chris Weidman

Gilberto Faria, the manager for Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza told MMAFighting that his clients’ next fight could be against former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman.

Souza (24-5, 1 NC) is coming off a second-round TKO loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC on FOX 24 in April, which was his second setback in his last four fights. The 37-year-old has never lost back-to-back fights in his 30-fight career. Weidman (14-3) snapped a three-fight skid in his last outing, submitting Kelvin Gastelum at UFC on FOX 25 in July. The 33-year-old looks to win two-straight fights for the first time since October 2015.
